RSS (Real Simple Syndication) is a technology that is being used by millions of web users around the world to keep track of their favorite websites. Back in the 'good ole days' of the web, you had to ‘bookmark’ websites in your browser in order to keep track, and then manually return to them on a regular basis to see what had been added or updated. Bookmarking definitely has some disadvantages: You miss information when you forget to check your bookmarks; it can get quite complicated trying to track all of those websites, and sometimes you end up seeing the same old information on the sites that didn't update their content that often. It became more work than was necessary. RSS to the Rescue Imagine being able to tell a website to inform you every time they updated? RSS to the rescue! RSS is basically a 'news feed' that you subscribe to. It provides you with a method of getting up-to-date information from your favorite sites and blogs every time they are updated. These updates get sent to your RSS reader for you to browse and peruse at your convenience.
